Sherman Kitchen
This Victorian home was full of old world design and detail to ground and inspire the renovation but it also held the potential for the flow to open up by updating for modern use. Once we removed the hardly used service stair the amazing space left behind became the bedrock for the significant kitchen reconfiguration. Originally small, and confined to a narrow space, the once one counter kitchen was reimagined into one with a highly functional layout that offers ample storage and counter space, and an island with seating. The new design also allows a highly desired connection to an enclosed wrap-around sunroom, a dedicated mudroom space and a powder room. This formally awkward, used ‘as needed’, space has become the family hub for this historic home.
