Midcentury Gem
Renovation of a small but mighty kitchen for a 1950s home in Maplewood NJ. This design gestated as an homage to the architecture of the house and the design sensibilities of the clients, whose great appreciation for mid-century modern style permeates every square inch of their home.
Walnut cabinetry, white graphic tile, crisp countertops and black trim are anchored by the warm tones of the terrazzo floors. Although the overall design concept is rooted in a mid-century aesthetic, the materials and finishes reflect a thoroughly modern, ‘smart technology’ way of living, with features that maximize function in the limited space.
